"The Crazy World of Arthur Brown"

Glad it is going great today ! Apparently going off on a musical tangent on this moody Monday afternoon. I struck digital gold again today as I walked into "In Your Ear - Records" (located in Cambridge, MA) I Traded a few good 7" country, then an exchange of some pretty noteworthy blog material took place. Here goes a few pretty decent samples from the album "The Crazy World of Arthur Brown" [Polydor Records - 1969]

Good afternoon and welcome !

I hope you had a fun filled musical weekend. In a bit of a different path for today, we have some light-hearted musical posts. I figured that music was more appropriate for a Monday, rather than some of the more intellectual jargon I have been branding into your brains this week (well at least I hope that some of you have thought or have digested some of this analytical non-sense). I'm thinking now that it's Monday here in the USA, at least, and that we may need some clarity and relaxation after the weekend.

Today from the deepest of my journalistic imagination I present to you the music and arrangement of Malmo, Sweden's - LUGNET -

Lugnet focuses on edits of some of the most obscure lost tracks known on this side of the universe as well as new avant-guarde music from artists local to his native, Sweden. His approach is to bring forward a more progressive and psychedelic concept in contemporary dance music to today's more obvious, (I would say a hum-drum and mechanical type of sound, I would concure that his approach is a taste, more of a diplomatic nature.) I am loving this new sound ! It seems there are so many great artists with a fresh new musical approach emerging from the Swedish underground, VERY INTERESTING, to say the very least ! In consideration of what most of today's club going population would consider dance music, the new collective of this tightly woven Swedish niche, is defiantly "Stirring the pot", if you will...

Here are some samples that I have acquired from Lugnet over the last couple of months, for the latest releases please visit Lugnet on Myspace

Lugnet no.03 is now in process. In early fall we will experience a new 12'' from VED, with a reworked reverse side, connecting the fundamentals of Lugnet with it's first musical collaborator.

Welcome to Zombocombo !

Zombocombo
is the latest dance craze from the streets of Germany. I believe it is the creation and work of the following:

Dj Mooner (Erkrankung/Compost)
Kitt Bang (Rocktronic/Registratur)
POLLYester (Kamerakino, Convertible, Pollyester),
Dj Kaput (Rocktronic/Registratur).

Please keep in mind that I have not actually seen this for myself and there is very little information about it, (all of which I am familliar are on this page). I would usually write more on such a topic, I'm not quite sure what to make it,
so you decide !

From the Zombocombo website:

Well, zombocombo is a monthly party with a theme, a motto.

We decorate the club and do a midnight show on the subject. The guests never know what is going to happen.

Often people find themselves participating or set into a situation where they get involved in scientific tests or end up following the pope out of the club around the block on a procession at the end of which a cow is being sacrificed to some absurd god. Always according to the theme of course.

One of our main characters is a concrete mixing machine called ZOMBOLA.

It looks like a disco mirror ball and it´s function is that of a tombola drum. We have balls with numbers inside and people can win prizes like screen printed clothes and useless things you can find at flea markets.

We have been doing this for 4 years now, once a month so I don´t even know where to start to describe what it´s all about but it´s the most unpredictable thing you can find in the club scene of -let´s say- Germany.

Theo Jansen - Kinetic Sculptures - The art of the future

I had an experience one time. I realized that I could see the wind, where it was moving in a matrix of needle like structures, juxtaposing off of every piece of matter in view. Upon thinking of this moment brings to mind, in my opinion one of the most brilliant works of art and ingenuity I have ever seen. I always dreamed of the future and have never imagined so much beauty.

Joseph Drapell and the "New New Painters" - Modern swag !

Joseph Drapell

Hello and Good Afternoon, today art is on my mind so I decided to blog a little bit on Joseph Drapell. Please keep in mind that most of the material in this blog post was not written by me and was already done, so why fix it...

Joseph Drapell, one of the most important abstract painters in the generation after PAINTERS ELEVEN. He immigrated to Halifax in 1966 and studied at the Cranbrook Academy (Bloomfield Hills, Mich, 1968-70), where he met visiting artist Jack BUSH and American critic Clement GREENBERG. He moved to Toronto and, inspired by Georgian Bay and influenced by Morris Louis, developed his own technique of applying paint with a broad spreading device attached to a movable support (1972-74).

(Taken from the Canadian Encyclopedia)

In 1983, during a coffee break in the studio, Drapell noticed a grooved texture as paint accumulated on his old corduroy pants. This effect–almost like a giant fingerprint (that resonated with van Gogh's brush strokes)–became a source of artistic possibilities still explored by Drapell today. By playing with depth of striations, spacing of grooves, and other factors, Drapell combines painting with a drawing technique (which utilizes reflections of light), where infinite changes in the meaning of color are possible.

Greetings and a warm welcome to yet another musical post from my deepest and strangest of memories. I re-discovered this on the day after the passing of "The King of Pop" - Michael Jackson. We hope you enjoy the story and music, whichever comes first, he he...

CAN - Out of Reach - Remastered Version 2003 [Audelic]

Most of us know the German, avant-garde band CAN. I am not going to go into great deal about how CAN helped dramatically inspire a whole progressive kraut rock - disco movement. Their have been MANY albums and I always enjoy discovering new ones... I especially enjoy discovering ones that I think as a DJ will work at a party and this happens to be one of them.

I am also not going to attempt to list even a portion of the massive Can discography.

On the album out of reach, some argue that this was perhaps not one of their greatest albums and this happens to be a favorite of mine despite some of the distorted recording. I don't think it was one of their best recordings either. In any case I hope you enjoy these two samples from the album "Out of Reach".

Have a super stellar afternoon filled with life and love.

Thus so far...

Greetings and good afternoon.

I absolutely have to say this this has been a very interesting last couple of weeks. All in just two weeks, I have written formulas for quantum cryptology, as well as energy isolation tables and "quantum waveform trees" I know this equation works, as a matter of fact 98 % of the people I had explained it to had a good understanding of it by the time I had finished explaining my theories.

Chris Aquilo theory A:

One of my theories are that gravity revolves around life itself and the universe shifts to accommodate life itself. The universe is in an constant state of movement energy-matter changes of inverse or unseen acknowledgement are being exchanged, whether by action, thought or energy as some kind is always being used or perceived. The electricity in our brains are faster then the speed of light with amazing capabilities, our dna is a very large and complex storage systems, lets not forget the sequences in our dna all the way up through the rods and cones in the eye and thought vs action.

Chris Aquilo Theory B:

Communication is the wall paper that holds the universe together. I refer to communication as a series of vibration and response. I will also refer to Communication as [ C ] later in the equation. You may measure [ C ] however you would like.

Affirmation is anything that affirms the fact that something indeed was communicated whether by action, thought or energy as some kind is always being used or perceived. Any response thus responding in an usually harmonic, opposite manor. Vibration or field response so far discovered is a fine example of plugin in other measurements observations or equations. In this equation as referring to Communication or Affirmation. I describe Affirmation as [ A ] in this equation. You may measure [ A ] however you would like

SO my guess is by now you would like to hear the equation right ??

here goes:

C + A (+/-) E=MC2 = X(infinity)[multiples]

Please enjoy the music while you wait:
